La Liga side Real Betis want Celtic fans to pledge their support to them when Spanish football returns this summer, sending a message on Twitter earlier this evening.
The Spanish top-flight is targeting a June comeback, with a derby between Betis and Sevilla potentially the curtain-raiser on 11th June, BBC Sport reports.
Clubs have returned to training and are actively preparing to follow in the footsteps of the Bundesliga.
Betis are currently sitting mid-table in 12th position with 11 games remaining and will be hoping to give their supporters something to smile about during the uncertain and worrying ongoing pandemic.
Now they’re looking for the support of Celtic fans too, stating on Twitter: “Hey, Celtic fans! As the Scottish Premiership was cancelled and now that La Liga is returning, perhaps you can fulfil your football craving with a Green and White Club you can feel identified with. Just turn the hoops sideways.”
They also presented a reimagined version of the Betis club badge, inserting part of the iconic Celtic crest.
Their message tonight follows on from a hearty congratulations last week after Celtic were confirmed nine-in-a-row champions, in which they stated their pride in the achievement of Neil Lennon’s men.
Will the green and white stripes of Betis be an attractive proposition for Hoops fans this summer?

It looks like we’ll be waiting much longer to see our beloved team on the pitch again and passing the time with an interest in Spanish football isn’t the worst idea in the world.
With a lack of Scottish action and La Liga on the telly, some fans will certainly be into it after this social media activity.
