Celtic’s pursuit of silverware in Scotland over the last two decades has given fan countless precious memories.

From a Quadruple Treble to winning a second nine-in-a-row, Celtic have been rampant in their dominance of not only Scottish football, but their biggest rivals, Rangers.

With another potential treble up for the taking, Brendan Rodgers stands on the brink of creating more history at Celtic as Rangers end another domestic season trophyless.

And as Rangers pin their hopes of a revival on the San Francisco 49ers takeover, Andy Walker has told the Ibrox club they can forget catching Celtic unless they change one thing.

Andy Walker’s message to Rangers about challenging Celtic for the title

By the end of this season, Celtic will have won the last 13 titles in 14 years as the Parkhead club’s domination over their biggest rivals continues.

And whilst Rangers’ struggle to catch the Hoops continues, Walker has told the Ibrox club that there is one thing they need to sort before they even start thinking about coming after Celtic.

Walker told The Go Radio Football Show [1h 16m 30s], “Really weird. And on the other side of the coin there is Celtic who’ve been relentless up until recently, where it’s been very up and down.

“And that’s obviously been a source of great frustration for Brendan Rodgers. He’s aired it as well.

“He’s spoken about the summer and how much he wants to improve the squad, players coming in and out.

“For Rangers, they need to get a level of consistency in domestic football, before they can think about challenging Celtic for the title.”

Celtic’s domination of Scottish football will continue regardless of any Rangers takeover

Celtic’s domination of Scottish football is likely to continue regardless of whether Rangers are taken over by the San Francisco 49ers or not.

Celtic have built a strong financial footing over the last two-and-a-half decades and meet UEFA’s stringent Financial Fair Play rules. The Parkhead club have pots of cash they can use to strengthen their squad at any given moment.

Rangers’ financial issues means that there cannot be a huge pot of cash to be thrown at the Ibrox and if any takeover actually does happen, a proper rebuild could take a number of years until Rangers sort out their financial situation.
