The landscape of UEFA competition broadcasting is set to change for Celtic supporters from 2024, a new report from Bloomberg indicates.
Currently, all of Celtic’s UEFA Champions League, Europa League and Conference League matches are broadcast exclusively on BT Sport.
However, Amazon is close to striking a combined deal with the tournament organisers at around 20% above the current price paid for the UK rights.

BT and Amazon are expected to pay around €1.7bn [£1.46bn] to UEFA for shared rights across all three competitions.
UEFA is also in the process of selling the rights to highlights, with ITV said to be the frontrunners. [Guardian]
While the increased money pool is a good thing for Celtic, who will, in turn, receive increased revenue from UEFA participation – it’s another blow for supporters who are already forking out for multiple subscription channels.
Currently, on top of season tickets, Celtic fans are already paying for Sky Sports, Premier Sports and BT Sport if they want to watch the Bhoys in all competitions on TV.
Amazon, with their own subscription service called Prime, would be another addition to that.
All together it’s an expensive monthly bill and only seems to be increasing in scope and size.
Bloomberg says the deal would commence from the 2024/25 season, for three years, so this isn’t happening imminently, but it’s just another sign of the times.

Amazon are increasingly moving in live sports broadcasting having already made themselves a player in the English Premier League market.
They have also become a part of the NFL broadcast scene, striking an 11-year, $11bn deal with the American league back in March. [Guardian]
