New Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is set to give winger Marian Shved an opportunity to impress at Lennoxtown this summer, VoetbalKrant.com reports.

The outlet states that Shved hasn’t reported to Mechelen’s pre-season training and is currently undergoing preparations to return to Glasgow.

It’s said that Postecoglou wants to see him in action at Lennoxtown before making a decision on his future. Another loan in Belgium is a possibility.

Shved initially struggled out on his loan at Mechelen, but eventually settled down to score five goals and assist three times for the club.

By the end of his loan, it became clear he’d be up for staying in Belgium, but it appears he’ll have a shot of Celtic redemption.

Shved’s saga at Celtic has been a strange one from the start. Brendan Rodgers didn’t seem to be that clued in on his arrival back in January 2019.

When he eventually arrived in Scotland that summer, he barely got a look in under Neil Lennon.

Some Celtic fans have long suspected there is potential there. However, unlocking that is partly down to the player’s desire and ability to adjust to life in Scotland.

It’s an encouraging sign that the new manager wants to take a look at all talents at the club. After the news he’s already contacted Leigh Griffiths, it seems nobody is going to be ignored in the new era, at least initially.

Who knows what kind of talent the new boss can harness from the current group of players? With multiple positions needing filled this summer, it’d be very silly to rule anyone out by default.

In other news, Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou responds to Paul McStay’s comments on his appointment.
