Enzo Maresca has been interviewed by Leicester City for their vacant manager’s position according to a report in the Daily Record.
The Italian is said to have met with officials from the now-English Championship side with a view to taking over as Brendan Rodgers’ replacement. According to the report, Maresca was interviewed just hours after winning the Champions League with Manchester City on Saturday night.
Maresca to Celtic links continued last week as reports prior to the Champions League Final suggested that the Parkhead club were due to make an approach for the 43-year-old.

It is not known if Celtic have made that approach even though Chairman, Peter Lawwell was in Istanbul to take in the final after attending a meeting of the executive board of the European Club Association.
Celtic are known to have already spoken to Brendan Rodgers and Francesco Farioli last week as they step up their bid to replace Ange Postecoglou.
If Maresca is one of Celtic’s top targets, it seems that they will need to make their move sooner rather than later as it is clear that he is in demand. The Italian coach had a short stint as a number one at Parma in 2021 but was dismissed after a poor run of results. [Parma FC]
Maresca has also rejected Southampton this year after the English Premier League strugglers approached him back in May to take over from Ruben Selles after the dismissal of Nathan Jones. [Daily Mail]
With Kjetil Knutsen also still being strongly linked to the Celtic job it does seem as though we are getting closer to the day to announcing a new manager.
