Celtic are on the verge of agreeing a new kit deal with manufacturers Adidas, worth more than the current £25m agreement with New Balance, The Scottish Sun report.

The paper says talks are ongoing with the global giant, with the potential agreement set to break Scottish records for a commercial partnership of this type.

It’s said several big brands have been duking it out to strike a deal with the Scottish champions.

Celtic have been working with New Balance since 2015 but it looks like Neil Lennon’s Bhoys will be lining up in stylish new Adidas jerseys as early as next season.

The sportswear giants already work with some of the world’s biggest clubs including Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Juventus.

Clearly this is not only a major boost to the look and image of the team, but also a massive financial win for the club.

Fans will also no doubt be delighted with the news.

When rumours emerged in December about a potential partnership with Adidas, supporters rushed to social media to give the thumbs up.

New Balance’s kits found a mixed reception amongst supporters.

From the highs of 2017/18’s gold-trimmed home jersey to the horrendous lows of this season’s grey and pink away effort, they’ve certainly brought some original designs.

Adidas are seen as a premium sports brand and it’ll be fascinating to see what they could do with our traditional green and white hoops.

Hopefully, we get confirmation of this partnership soon, then the countdown can begin to next season’s official kit unveiling.
