English Premier League side Everton are reportedly ‘in talks’ to be Rangers replacement for the Sydney Super Cup taking place later this year.
As we reported on Sunday evening, news of the four and final side taking part was ‘coming soon’, according to the hosts of the competition.

According to reports from Australia, Frank Lampard’s Everton side are now ‘in talks’ to replace our Glasgow rivals Rangers and become the second opponent Celtic face in November [Kick360].
With Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou making a return to his homeland for the first time in several years, there was a lot of hype in Australia after the competition was announced.
However, there has also been a lot of controversy surrounding ‘Ange’s homecoming’, with the Glasgow derby set to take place for the first time away from Scotland.
Although the Ibrox side quickly made the move to pull out of the competition, leaving organisers with the job of finding another team to be involved.
Whilst there have been little updates over the progress of the Hoops newest opponents in November, progress seems to have been made in the last few days, with Everton being eyed up as the replacement.
Of course, the Toffee’s have Australian links of their own, with former Socceroo Tim Cahill being a popular figure at Goodison Park during his playing days.

For now, there will be more things for Ange Postecoglou to focus on before the Sydney Super Cup in November.
However, having the Bhoys’ second opponents sorted will provide Aussie fans with another buzz of excitement about the 56-year-old’s homecoming.
I am sure Ange will be looking forward to that moment too, and a showdown against Everton would also provide Celtic with a good challenge during the off-season, thanks to the Qatar World Cup.
In other news, Celtic are about to embark on another week supporters can get hyped about.
