Former Bournemouth, Ostersunds and Tottenham Hotspur employee David Webb is being considered for the sporting director role at Celtic.
The Daily Mail reports that he is one of the candidates as the club consider a structure shake-up this summer.
Chief Executive Peter Lawwell is on his way out of Celtic, with incoming CEO Dom McKay expected to create a director of football or sporting director role.
Whatever the job is named as, the figure in charge would oversee the football department at Celtic, working with a first-team manager.
Webb has held a variety of behind the scenes roles in England and Scandinavia.
He was head of first-team recruitment at Bournemouth between 2013 and 2015.
Webb then moved to Tottenham Hotspur, becoming “Head of Elite Potential Identification”, per his LinkedIn page.
After that, he headed to Sweden with Ostersunds FK. He was their Technical Director for 11 months between 2018 and 2019.
His most recent role was at Huddersfield, where he was Head of Football Operations.
Intriguingly, the Mail’s report emerged just minutes after a report by Goal linking us with a move for Matteo Tognozzi of Juventus, for the same job at Celtic.

It seems that Celtic are moving ahead with the recruitment process and potentially sounding out different candidates.
Manchester City employee Fergal Harkin has also been linked with the role in recent weeks.
Interesting times ahead at Celtic, to say the least.
In other news, a former Celtic prospect has been named on a prestigious list of the world’s best young footballers.
