We are all going to have to get used to this. As the hunt for the new Celtic manager continues, another name has popped up that is now being linked to the Parkhead top job.

According to The Daily Mail, highly-rated Spanish coach, Andoni Iraola is ready to throw his hat into the ring for the vacant managerial position.

Iraola is the former manager of La Liga side Rayo Vallecano. Taking over the Spanish side in the second division in 2020, he managed to guide them to promotion to the top tier in 2021 via the play-offs. He also took them to the last four of the Spanish Cup for the first time in 40 years. [Marca]

Vallecano finished in eleventh place in the Spanish top flight this season. And whilst that doesn’t seem too convincing, Iraola did manage to engineer victories against the Spanish champions, Barcelona and runners-up, Real Madrid.

In fact, he was undefeated against the Catalan giants this season after holding them to an opening-day 0-0 draw at the Nou Camp.

Before taking over at Vallecano, Iraola also managed CD Mirandes and took them to the semi-finals of the Spanish Cup for just the second time in their history. [Marca]

He has also managed Cypriot side AEK Larnaca. Iraola is now a free agent after rejecting a contract to stay at the club.

As the hunt for the next Celtic manager continues you can be sure that we will continue to be linked to more names over the coming days.

Although there is no pressure on the Celtic board to get a new manager in place soon, the fans will be keen to see who will take over at the club and restore stability after the departure of Ange Postecoglou to Spurs this morning.
