Report: The three staff members Postecoglou wants to take to Spurs; Celtic position

Celtic don’t want to lose any staff to Tottenham Hotspur as Ange Postecoglou tries to strengthen his new backroom team.

Yes, that’s probably an intro you didn’t expect to read a fortnight ago. But it’s where we’re at now. It’s suddenly become Celtic vs Ange Postecoglou.

Sky Sports have today reported that Postecoglou would like to take his former coaches John Kennedy and Gavin Strachan down to London with him.

Analyst Greg Wallace, formerly of Spurs, is also on his wish list.

While Kennedy seems to be keen on to move, things are not as clear with either Strachan or Wallace.

Or, indeed, Harry Kewell. You would have thought if anyone was to join Postecoglou in his new venture then it would have been his compatriot.

Celtic‘s stance on the issue is that they don’t want to lose anyone, as reported by Sky Sports.

Given that we are actively looking for a new manager, it would be good to know who will be left at Lennoxtown when they arrive.

It will be an unsettling time for many at the club, given how huge a figure Postecoglou was.

On the face of it, it may not be a bad time for a clean break with the likes of Kennedy and Strachan moving on.

Perhaps that could allow the next boss to bring in their own people, to add to reliable club figures like Stevie Woods and Tim Williamson.

But regardless of what happens with the playing staff this summer, Celtic are going to look very different next season.
