Tom Rogic is heading for the exit at Celtic, but his destination isn’t certain yet.

The Daily Mail’s Stephen McGowan reports that the Hoops have a £3.6million offer from an unnamed club in Qatar on the table.

However, it is reported that the Australian international could still be used in our potential move for Shane Duffy.

The colossal Brighton defender is likely to cost Neil Lennon’s men £2million for one season on loan, but it’s now suggested that Rogic could “be used as a makeweight” in the deal.

The Daily Mail also say that it’s now just ourselves and West Ham who are in the frame for 28-year-old Ireland international.

Rogic out and Duffy in would make a lot of sense

McGowan is well connected at Celtic, so it does seem like the possibility of using Rogic in a move for Duffy has crossed the club’s mind.

In theory, it would make a lot of sense. Rogic has featured precious little as of late, so replacing him with a reliable addition like Duffy would be a clever ploy.

However, surely the potential Rogic to Brighton factor is irrelevant in many ways.

We’ve got a neat bid lined up from Qatar already, so even if Brighton don’t want the Aussie, we could still use the Qatar money to fund Duffy.

Paying £2million for one season for the Brighton stalwart is a pretty hefty price by Celtic standards.

Earlier this week, we put that very issue to Celtic legend Jackie McNamara who joined us on the 67 Hail Hail YouTube channel.

Jackie felt that it was a lot of money to pay out for one season, but then went into detail of why Duffy could be an important addition to Lennon’s squad.

Time will tell what happens with Rogic, and Duffy. Not too many Celtic fans will be too gutted to see one leave, if the other is brought in.

In other news, Kieran Tierney says that Arsenal goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez was close to joining Celtic on loan.
