Robbie Savage was left stunned by Chris Sutton’s latest Celtic verdict.
Sutton has been very outspoken about his former club since the start of the season after numerous failings on and off the pitch.
Before Celtic’s win against Kilmarnock, the former striker warned Martin O’Neill about endangering his legacy if he remains at the Hoops for too long but the Bhoys now find themselves seven points behind Hearts with a game in hand.
Plenty of people still believe that Celtic are the favourites for the title, but Sutton’s latest claim certainly goes against the grain.
Poll: Will Celtic win the league?
Chris Sutton slammed by Robbie Savage over title verdict
Savage and Sutton both dissected the results from the Scottish Premiership.
When the former came onto the discussion of who would be in pole position to win the league, Sutton replied Hearts, much to the bemusement of the Forest Green Rovers manager.
“Celtic, Rangers, both won. Who are favourites? Celtic are favourites would you say?” Savage asked on the Radio Five Live 606 phone in.
“Hearts are favourites,” Sutton said.
“No, they’re not favourites. Don’t talk rubbish… They’re not favourites to win the league right now, Chris. Come on, you’re better than that.”

The title will be in Celtic’s hands if they do two things
Right now, there is still a mountain to climb in order for the Hoops to defend their title.
However, there is a world where they could swing everything back in their favour.
The two teams meet at Parkhead on Sunday 7 December before the Bhoys then play their game in hand not long after.
Two wins from those games will reduce the gap to one point, and really ramp up the pressure on the Jambos.
