Ross McCormack’s Celtic affinity seems to be something of an open secret.
Despite coming through the Rangers academy and scoring four goals in 14 appearances at Ibrox, McCormack’s true allegiance has slowly got out over the years.
He has had a fair crack at the punditry gig so far, appearing on all sorts of media outlets, from Open Goal to BBC.
But when appearing on TalkSPORT on Thursday, presenter Paul Hawksbee noted that he ‘understood’ McCormack to be a Celtic fan.
His cheeky response made one thing clear.
Ross McCormack on being a Celtic fan
McCormack earned 13 Scotland caps in a career which saw him star for a variety of clubs in the English Championship.
He was particularly prolific at Leeds United and Fulham, being remembered fondly by both clubs.

He was initially previewing Rangers’ clash with Braga, saying that it would be a ‘long road’ for Ibrox boss Danny Rohl.
Hawksbee then said: “You are a Celtic fan, Ross, aren’t you, I understand?”
McCormack said: “Well, first of all, live on national radio, I can’t confirm or deny that.
“There will be people at my local door!”
Hawskbee then replied “Okay, as someone who may or may not support Celtic, just give us your view as a neutral, then.”
McCormack then said on Martin O’Neill: “If reports are to be believed, then this could be Martin’s last European game as Celtic manager, with the talks that Wilfried Nancy’s going to come in from the MLS.
“Me, personally, having watched Martin O’Neill’s teams over the years, I would’ve loved for his last European game to be at Celtic Park under the floodlights.
“I think he deserves that, for his services to the club. But he’s done unbelievable since he’s come back. Everything that’s been asked of him, he’s done it.
“He’s whittled the gap down from, I think it was, eight or nine points when he took over. Now, it’s only four, and Celtic have a game in hand.”
Ross McCormack’s Celtic allegiance
McCormack’s had a few interesting things to say about Celtic since entering the punditry sphere.
This includes his claim that Hoops hero Moussa Dembele was ‘selfish’ when they played together at Fulham. He said that he preferred playing with Hugo Rodallega.
He was also speaking on the radio when he invited Gabby Agbonlahor to the famous Hoops Bar on the Gallowgate.
