Brendan Rodgers’ battle with the mysterious Celtic board member who briefed the media against him is still being discussed.
Despite Celtic beating Kilmarnock with a last-minute penalty, Rodgers’ relationship with the Parkhead board is still creating discussion.
When a Celtic insider briefed The Scottish Sun about Rodgers wanting to leave the club, fan anger rose as the Hoops support reacted strongly.
Celtic fan protests have taken place since then, but when Sam Allardyce heard about Rodgers talking about the ‘cowardly’ person who went to the media, the former England boss offered a grim warning to the Hoops gaffer.

Sam Allardyce’s grim warning to Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers is wide of the mark
When informed by podcast host Natalie Pike that Rodgers had gone public of the mysterious board member who claimed the Celtic boss wanted to leave the club, Allardyce delivered a grim warning.
Pike told No Tippy Tappy Football [46m 58s], “Did you hear what he said this weekend or recently that he said it was a cowardly action from someone on the Celtic board to leak information that he wanted to leave?”
Allardyce: “So somebody doesn’t like him then? There’s nothing worse than somebody at board level that’s not on your side. I mean, that’s not his fault though, is that?
“Unless he’s upset him and he’s waiting to get his own back, you can’t not have a relationship like that with your board.
“It depends who it is on the board. If you’ve got a great relationship with the number one on the board, then you talk about it and you either decide whether it’s Brendan goes or that board member.
“That’s a bigger decision more than ever, isn’t it?”
Allardyce says Rodgers could become a Celtic ‘casualty’
So how does the problem get fixed? Can this damage ever be repaired? Allardyce doesn’t think so.
The former Everton boss says, “But in terms of that relationship now, it’s never going to be the same once that becomes public.
“Maybe, probably Brendan would deny it, I don’t think it’s right, but he probably would. But, you know, we all end up the casualty normally, as managers.
“Even when it’s not our fault, we still end up being the casualty. We’re the ones that get sacrificed first.”
What Allardyce isn’t factoring in is the huge support Rodgers has from the Celtic fanbase. If he was let go or made a ‘casualty’ during this season because of this spat, the protests the board saw at Kilmarnock will be nothing compared to what would come their way.
