Scott Brown always had that fire, aggression, and passion in his play as a player, and now that is going to be needed by the current crop of Celtic players.

The much-anticipated post-split fixtures will kick off this weekend, and Brown remains firm that Martin O’Neill’s side will secure Premiership glory.

Celtic’s legendary midfielder highlighted that the Scottish champions have ‘two home games’ against their title rivals, including Premiership leaders Hearts on the final day.

When Kris Boyd tried to push back on that by stating, ‘you haven’t beaten them at home all season,’ Brown was quick to remind the former Rangers striker that ‘it doesn’t matter’ at this stage of the campaign.

Brown: “Celtic’s two home games. Rangers and Hearts. That’s the biggest thing.”

Boyd: “You haven’t beaten them at home all season.”

Brown: “It doesn’t matter. It really doesn’t.”

Scott Brown explains why Celtic will win the Premiership title

Celtic have a lot of players on the pitch and in the dugout who know how to win trophy after trophy, including numerous Premiership titles.

That’s probably why the Hoops are still in this title race, because of that know-how, as O’Neill continues to drag this declining team over the line.

That was mentioned by Brown and how he expects his former side to ‘grind it out’, as he also feels ‘everyone will drop points’ during this hectic title run-in.

This is what Brown had to say on the Warm-Up regarding Celtic’s title chances, as he was also in conversation with Steven Naismith, Chris Sutton and Boyd.

Naismith: “One, two and three. Give us them.”

Brown: “Celtic, Hearts and Rangers.”

Naismith: “You are just saying that.”

Brown: “Celtic’s two home games. Rangers and Hearts. That’s the biggest thing.”

Boyd: “You haven’t beaten them at home all season.”

Brown: “It doesn’t matter. It really doesn’t.”

Boyd: “So, you put Celtic third, Rangers second…”

Brown laughs: “I liked how you have turned that.”

Sutton: “So you still think Celtic will win the league?”

Brown: “I still think Celtic will grind it out, especially at home. I always back Celtic, especially when they are that close. They have done it before. They know how to do it. I think Hearts and Rangers, everyone is going to drop points. But I think the big games for Celtic, we have Hearts and Rangers at home.”

Which Celtic players have won the title?

First off, the dugout is packed with title winners, so don’t underestimate O’Neill’s know-how over the inexperience he is facing.

Will it come off? Well, only time will tell.

But out on that pitch, from Arne Engels to Callum McGregor, the majority of them have won the Premiership title and understand what it takes to get over the line.
