The SFA have this afternoon confirmed the dates for the 2022/23 Scottish Cup campaign, as Celtic’s trophy hunt prepares to get underway.

It has been a long ten weeks without competitive action for the Hoops support. But, there isn’t long to wait now, with the Scottish Premiership season finally kick-starting.

After winning back the Scottish Premiership title last campaign, Ange Postecoglou’s side now goes into the new season looking to retain their title.

Of course, the Hoops also lifted the Premier Sports Cup last December, and the Celtic manager will be keen to defend all the trophies his side delivered during his first year in the dugout.

Alongside looking to defend his two trophies, the 56-year-old will also be attempting to complete the domestic set in Scotland by lifting the Scottish Cup trophy at the end of the season.

This afternoon, the SFA made the route to the final for Scottish sides a little clearer, confirming the dates that each round will take place.

Celtic enter at the fourth round stage, which will begin on the weekend of Saturday 21st of January 2023, with lower league clubs battling it out to join the Scottish Premiership sides.

The final will also take place on Saturday 3rd of June 2023, which is a week later than the showpiece match regularly occurs due to the extended football calendar with the FIFA World Cup later this year.

The Scottish Cup is very much a competition Celtic have enjoyed a lot of success in, winning the trophy four seasons on the bounce between 2016/17 – 2019/20.

However, it has been a two-year absence for the Hoops from the final fixture of the season, having been eliminated at the 5th round stage and semi-final in the last two campaigns.

Ange Postecoglou has built an incredible mentality within his squad, and I am sure that will be no different this season, with the Bhoys going on the hunt for all the trophies they are competing for this year.
