There has been a lot of noise across the road from Celtic following the conclusion of the season.
Rangers have new investment, in the form of the 49ers Enterprise, and it means they are going to dominate the world, as many inside Celtic Park have heard for years and years now.
This is Brendan Rodgers’ second spell in charge, and on both occasions, he has always dealt with Rangers, making more noise than actually producing on the pitch, hence why he has won four titles out of four.
That includes Celtic securing title number 55 this season, missing out on the Treble after a penalty shootout defeat to Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final last month.
It goes to show how much Celtic are dominating that the disappointment for the club today is missing out on Trebles, rather than titles.
But amid this noise around Rangers’ new investment, after it was all but confirmed, Simon Jordan reacted to it all.

Simon Jordan on Celtic gap after Rangers statement
Rangers released a statement to their supporters telling them that ‘£20m of new investment will be made available’ ahead of the summer transfer window re-opening.
That was put forward to Jordan, and he made it clear that he ‘wouldn’t be too excited by that statement’, and also highlighted how the gap between Celtic and Rangers is ‘quite significant’, as he told talkSPORT.
Jim White stated: “The club says ‘£20m of new investment will be made available in the summer’. Supporters will think, ‘well, hopefully, that’s just the start. That’s good, but that’s just the start’.”
Jordan responded: “Yeah, I mean, I don’t know what difference that is going to make.
“Ultimately, you have got a club that is quite significantly behind Celtic. Although they have landed some gloves on Celtic in the last season, which they hadn’t done previously. I wouldn’t be too excited by the statement that ‘£20m is being made available’.
“My big question was. What is the big motivation for the ownership? What does it achieve? How important is Scottish football? And what does it give to these new owners, in terms of their percentage interest in this football club?
“Does it become that’s slightly disadvantageous to Rangers, and preferential to Leeds? In terms of Rangers players finding their way in the Leeds team, rather than potentially finding their way and allowing Rangers to dominate Scottish football. Of course, they will push back on that.”
Celtic and Rangers’ trophies since 2000
As mentioned above, four titles out of four during Rodgers’ two spells in charge, including four in a row for the club, and 14 out of the last 15.
Even this season, with Celtic being a little off in 2025, including losing two Glasgow derbies, they still managed to walk towards the title.
But it isn’t just this season, or in the last few years, that Celtic have looked levels above Rangers. The signs have been there for decades.
