Celtic took their time, but they eventually got the job done at Tannadice on Saturday.

That’s four titles in four seasons, over two different spells, for Brendan Rodgers, including a 14th in 15 seasons for Celtic and 55 overall for Scotland’s most successful club.

Yes, Celtic have shot themselves in the foot of late, including losing at the bottom of the table, St Johnstone at the start of the month.

But since then, everything has been done in style, including thrashing Dundee United 5-0 on their way to the title.

It wasn’t just the Celtic Park faithful who were delighted at this win, but some familiar faces who showed their love for this historic title win.

Virgil van Dijk, Alex Valle, Joe Hart and Trevor Sinclair react to Celtic securing title number 55

When the much-anticipated Premiership title was confirmed, the club posted on Instagram, ‘Celtic are crowned Champions of Scotland for the fourth season in a row’.

In the comments section of that post, Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk, who spent two seasons in Glasgow, sent a clapping emoji, alongside former loanee Alex Valle, who added love hearts and clapping emojis, with Joe Hart adding ‘congratulations all’.

Meanwhile, over on the other side of social media, Trevor Sinclair, who played for the likes of West Ham United and Queens Park Rangers during his career, including 12 caps for England, wanted to show his love for the champions.

The Celtic-daft pundit posted just pure facts to his 112k followers on Twitter.

‘Hail Hail Glasgow Celtic 🏆,’ wrote Sinclair. ’55th Championship 🍀’

Does Valle qualify to win a medal?

When Valle signed for Celtic in the summer, it was an initial loan deal until the end of the season, and he was expected to challenge Greg Taylor for minutes.

But then, talk of Kieran Tierney returning to Celtic surfaced, and with many thinking the Arsenal man would make a comeback in January, their loan player had his stint cut short; he returned to Barcelona and was then shipped out to FC Como to work with Cesc Fabregas.

Well, you require ten appearances to secure a Scottish Premiership medal, and Valle ticks those boxes, so he will be getting one through the post pretty soon.
