Wilfried Nancy’s Celtic future has come into doubt after the Premier Sports Cup final defeat to St Mirren.
The Celtic manager has failed to win any of his first three games as Nancy watched his team score just one goal in 180 minutes.
Celtic’s defeat to St Mirren appears to be the final straw for many Celtic supporters, but for Simon Jordan, he says if he was still in football, he would never have looked at Nancy.

And speaking to Martin O’Neill, the talkSPORT presenter spelled it out as Jordan gave plenty of reasons on why Celtic should not have hired the Frenchman.

Not forgetting that Nancy has been in the job for 11 days, Jordan has seen enough to make his verdict on whether or not the former MLS man should have been anywhere near the top Parkhead job.
Jordan told talkSPORT, “I don’t think I would have employed this manager.
“And ultimately, I would have expected him to have beaten a faltering Hearts. They weren’t in great form. They had lost and drawn the last couple of games, and they weren’t in momentum.
“A Roma game which I knew would be difficult and a cup final [with his face in at O’Neill’s] that I have to win. I’d be disappointed, is what I’d be.”

And to further bolster his point, Jordan has warned that Nancy should not be treating Celtic like a club that could give him a punt up to another big league.
When Jim White pushed the point that Jordan would not have taken Nancy on, the talkSPORT man replied, “I said that from the outset. I don’t think, with all due respect to his credentials, they should be used as a stepping stone. Celtic’s not a stepping stone.

“Celtic are one of two clubs in Scotland that has to win. End of discussion. Has to win. And when he came in, it wasn’t broken.
“Brendan’s tantrums were causing off the field challenges. And so when Brendan has gone, put a sensible voice in there that holds order and does sensible things, you win football matches in Scotland in any league.”
The chances of Nancy being let go by Celtic are small because that would entail the club admitting they have made another mistake.
No doubt the Frenchman will be given more time, and to be fair to him, he should be entitled to it by default.
However, time is running out, and Nancy needs to start picking up wins to keep Celtic’s season, not just the league campaign, alive.
