Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph has tweeted that Boli Bolingoli isn’t interesting Roma and that there has been no offer for the player from the Serie A side.
The Daily Record reported late last night that there was indeed interest in the Belgian from the Serie A club. The newspaper also stated that Celtic chiefs were expecting a firm offer for the Hoops bad-boy.
However, Sky’s Joseph has denied it. Instead, he’s tweeted saying that St Etienne and Middlesbrough were both interested in the player before his Covid rule break, but that there’s nothing from Roma’s side.
Boli hasn’t played for Celtic since breaking strict protocols regarding the current health pandemic. His actions in flying to Spain and failing to quarantine led to the Hoops seeing two of their games postponed.
However, getting someone to take the Belgian appears to be a tricky task so far.
No surprise see a lack of interest
Boli to Roma always looked a tad bizarre. He had hardly impressed at Parkhead over the last 12 months and wasn’t even the first-choice left-back before he breached protocol.
Why Roma would feel he could do a job for them in Serie A was anyone’s guess. But it appears that’s now been thrown into the air after the Sky Sports man’s tweet.
It now leaves Celtic without any reported offers in for their frozen-out Belgian. That’s something that may frustrate the section of supporters who want to see the player gone this summer.

It could be the case that Celtic may have to cut their losses here if they want him to depart. Clubs will know about the player’s situation and that they can potentially sign him up in a cut-price deal. Any hope the club has of securing close the £3million they signed for him look dead (The Herald).
The club has still yet to officially announce the result of their own internal investigation into Boli’s quarantine breach.
However, with regards to any departure, it looks as though we may very well be back to square one.
In other news, Celtic captain Scott Brown has provided an exciting update on the team’s work on formations this week.
