It seems that there is no reason for Celtic fans to be concerned about Odsonne Edouard’s fitness issues. The Hoops forward missed the last two games with a thigh injury, including the Champions League exit to Ferencvaros.
However, the good news is that Edouard is back in action, and back amongst the goals. The striker, who is presumably still not fully fit, came on as a second-half substitute for France under 21s in their match against Georgia.
Back from injury with a goal
He scored France’s second goal from the penalty spot in their 2-0 win over Georgia, a goal that was recognised by the Celtic Twitter account.
Edouard has been prolific at this level of the game. Therefore, it is no real shock to see him find the back of the net. It is perhaps a bit more of a surprise that he has recovered from his thigh injury so quickly. That can only be good news for Celtic, as the Hoops have plenty of big games on the horizon.

It will be interesting to see if Edouard is involved for the French under 21 side when they travel to Azerbaijan on Monday.
You would imagine that if Edouard plays it will be as a substitute once more, as the player looks to build up his fitness. Celtic indeed might have an agreement with the French side to limit the number of minutes Edouard plays. That would be a sensible move.
Some fans delighted by the player’s return
Edouard’s return from injury and goal was, unsurprisingly, commented on by some Celtic fans on social media. Fans seemed delighted that the player returned perhaps earlier than expected.

One fan said that Edouard was ‘ice cold’ due to the coolness of his expertly taken penalty. Another fan called for Edouard to have a new contract announced on the back of the goal. Here are some of the best reactions from Twitter as Odsonne Edouard returns from injury with a goal.
In other news, some Celtic fans were impressed with Nir Bitton’s performance for Israel.
