Odsonne Edouard has just gone even further up in the estimations of the Celtic support after he posted a stinging response to Charlie Nicholas on Twitter.
The Sky Sports pundit earlier criticised the forward in a bizarre column in the Express. (print edition, 24/09, page 61)

“It’s as if he can’t be too fussed in the so-called lesser games,” Nicholas said. “The thing that irritates me more than anything is his lack of celebration when he scores.”
But the lovable Frenchman didn’t seem to be too bothered as he took to Twitter to post the following message.
And Edouard has, unsurprisingly, been supported by his adoring Celtic following. Here are some of the finest replies to his tweet.

Edouard’s celebration really isn’t important
Edouard may not always go crazy when he scores a goal but that’s just part of his persona. The most important thing is that he’s getting the chance to celebrate by putting the ball in the back of the net.

It’s not as if the Frenchman doesn’t celebrate at all either. He seemed to rather enjoy his recent goal at Ibrox while his second strike at the weekend against Kilmarnock also brought out a positive reaction.
But the truth is that the whole story of Nicholas’ comments is pretty pointless. The pundit is entitled to his opinion, however daft it sounds, while Celtic fans and Edouard are entirely right to have a pop back.
It won’t affect Edouard in any way. You even wonder if he might tone down the celebration for his next goal. Just to prove a point.
