The Celtic Park atmosphere is best known for its ferocity, either in the Champions League or during a Glasgow Derby.

Players the world over have commented on how the Celtic Park crowd have left them blown away as the Parkhead fans make life difficult for the Bhoys’ opponents.

Most recently, Bayern Munich felt the Hoops fans fierceness in the 2-1 Champions League defeat to the Bundesliga giants.

But it seems that the crowd stepped up this weekend after Hearts defender Harry Milne said his debut for the Tynecastle club at Parkhead was made even more special by the atmosphere in the ground.

Hearts star blown away by Celtic Park atmosphere

Milne told The Celtic Way, “To play in an atmosphere like that against a team like that was special for me.”

“I just want more days like that – with better results. I remember when I first started with Cove Rangers in the Highland League, playing in places like Fort William, where a couple of farmers come out to watch you!”

“To go from there to this was a special day for me and my family. My girlfriend managed to make it down, but I had family all over the world watching.

“My brother (Stuart) is over in Australia, and my dad (Tim) is going over. They met halfway in Singapore and watched it in an Irish bar.

“It’s just as well they weren’t here! It shows the global appeal of clubs like Celtic and Hearts. There’s always a bar anywhere in the world that is showing it.

“It was a bit bittersweet with the result, but you are not always expected to go there and get the three points. So it was disappointing, but it doesn’t take away too much.”

Celtic’s top five goalscorers vs Hearts since 1997

Celtic’s fixtures against Hearts are generally always thought of as being tight affairs, however, the reality is very far from that misconception.

In 116 fixtures against the capital club since 1997, Celtic have won 84, drawn 12 and lost just 20.

Over those games, the Hoops have scored 268 goals so here are the five Celtic players who have scored the most goals against the Tynecastle club in that period.

With at least one more fixture to play against Hearts, Celtic will have the chance to improve their winning record over the struggling Edinburgh club.
