Celtic head to St Mirren Park tomorrow night, looking to get another win under their belt to successfully defend their Scottish Premiership title.

The Scottish champions got back to winning ways midweek after Celtic destroyed Aberdeen 5-1 at Parkhead in a disjointed performance where Brendan Rodgers’ side never really got out of second gear.

Celtic had four different goal-scorers on the night as they kept their 13-point gap to Rangers intact heading into the final stretches of the league campaign.

As St Mirren awaits, the Paisley club have been warned by Cameron Carter-Vickers that they could be in for a tough time as the US international says one of his Celtic teammates is ‘peaking’ right now.

Cameron Carter-Vickers is in awe of ‘unique’ Celtic teammate

Carter-Vickers has been blown away by Daizen Maeda this season as the Japan’s international’s double against Aberdeen meant he had notched his 25th goal of the season.

The big defender has already shared how Bayern Munich’s players were blown away by the Celtic hero and now, it could be St Mirren’s turn as Carter-Vickers warns Maeda is at the peak of his powers right now.

Carter-Vickers told The Mirror [print edition page 60], “Physically, in terms of his running power and capacity, I don’t know if anyone in the (Celtic) squad could get to that level to be honest.

“I think it’s something unique to him that he has naturally, but when you see a guy working that hard, it definitely makes you want to work hard and make sure you’re doing a shift as well.

“I don’t know if I would say there has been improvement with him, he’s definitely peaking at the moment.

“Whether that’s fitness wise, as is aid, he’s always on the move, extremely fit and always running.

“I don’t know if I’ve seen an improvement. We always knew he had that quality and he is showing it now.”
