Wilfried Nancy takes charge of his second Celtic game at the Premier Sports Cup final against St Mirren on Sunday.

The Frenchman could turn the tide of criticism away from him if the new Celtic boss emerges victorious at Hampden and lifts the Premier Sports Cup.

Celtic’s defeat to Hearts has already put Nancy on the backfoot after his Hoops debut ended in defeat at Parkhead.

However, all that negativity could change with a Hampden win on Sunday and it looks like Nancy and the Celtic supporters could be in for a wee bonus after St Mirren unveiled their cup final ticket sales with a deadline.

St Mirren sell 13,000 Premier Sports Cup final tickets vs Celtic as deadline looms

There has been a lot said about the ticket allocation for the cup final with St Mirren using their initiative to try and shift more briefs for the big Celtic game.

But despite allowing season ticket holders to purchase up to 20 tickets per person, the Buddies are still struggling to sell the 17,000 allocation that they could have requested for the Hampden final.

St Mirren posted on X, “St Mirren take on Celtic in the Premier Sports Cup Final at Hampden Park this Sunday and we’ll be backed by over 13,000 Buddies.

“A very limited number of tickets remain online with sales closing at midnight on Wednesday.”

So with that in mind, what does this mean for Celtic supporters?

Celtic fans could be braced for a Premier Sports Cup final bonus

If St Mirren don’t sell up to 17,000 tickets, the rest of the allocation will be handed over the Celtic ticket office for the Parkhead support to snap up.

With over 13,000 tickets sold, there is a potential that Celtic could have close to 4000 extra supporters at the game on Sunday.

Wilfried Nancy could become a hero if he guides Celtic to victory against St Mirren which would buy him time from the naysayers who have written the Frenchman off after the defeat to Hearts at the weekend.
