Stephen Welsh has paid tribute to one of his teammates who he believes has been excellent for Celtic over the past three seasons.
The Celtic defender was praising Daniel Kelly this morning and said that the youngster has been really impressing the first team in training.
Young Kelly has made the Celtic breakthrough this season with five appearances so far and looks to have a bright future at the club.
But it was one of the old guard who was up next for some special praise from the Celtic defender and Welsh admits that when the end of the season comes, he will be gutted to say goodbye to him.
Joe Hart is a Celtic ‘revelation’
Joe Hart announced his desire to retire at the end of this season and Welsh says that the Celtic dressing room was absolutely gutted at the news.
Welsh said [The Herald], “Joe has been an absolute revelation for us, honestly.
“I think when the news came out when he said he was going to be retiring at the end of the season, we were all a wee bit gutted to be honest.
“Since he has come in, he has been a role model for the young boys off the pitch. Everybody has seen what he can do on the pitch, but for young lads like me, he has been amazing.
“He is the first person to get us up for it and he is the first person to praise you for doing something good. But he can get after us as well, for slacking off a wee bit or whatever. He has been great for us.”
Hart took over the Celtic goals probably at the worst ever time. Vasilis Barkas had etched some harsh memories into the Celtic fans’ heads and Hart had to hit the ground running.

And he did just that. Not only did he bring stability to the Celtic goals, he also brought leadership and calmness that helped deliver five trophies out of six in his first two seasons.
Hart made history as the second-ever Celtic player to win all domestic honours in Scotland and England. He will go down in Celtic’s history books as a treble-legend as well.
The much-loved keeper will be a huge miss next season and Brendan Rodgers has a tough task ahead of him to fill such huge gloves in the summer.
