Superb Kasper Schmeichel stat emerges after Celtic star’s latest Denmark appearance

Celtic haven’t been overly impressive so far this season.

The Hoops are unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership and Premier Sports Cup so far, but performances are below what is expected of them by fans.

That led to Celtic’s Champions League exit at the hands of Kairat Almaty, with the Bhoys failing to find the net across 210 minutes of awful football.

However, goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel can be extremely proud with his displays in a Celtic and Denmark jersey so far this campaign.

Celtic’s Schmeichel hasn’t conceded a goal since pre-season

That’s because the great Dane has not conceded a single goal for either Celtic or Denmark since pre-season in July.

Schmeichel kept his impressive record going across the international break as Scotland and Greece failed to breach Denmark’s defence on Friday and Monday respectively.

Celtic are yet to concede a goal in all competitions with Schmeichel in between the sticks, proving that from a defensive point of view, everything is fairly rosy.

Schmeichel last conceded a goal in the 5-1 defeat to Ajax on July 24 in the Como Cup.

The chances of another Schmeichel shut out vs Kilmarnock

Next up for Celtic is Kilmarnock away on Sunday, and Rugby Park hasn’t been the most enjoyable ground for the Hoops over recent years.

Celtic have lost two of their last four visits to East Ayrshire, but the previous two matches produced clean sheets.

Encouragingly for the Bhoys, only Livingston so far this season have conceded more goals than Kilmarnock in the Premiership.

Killie haven’t won a game yet either, so Schmeichel has a good chance of extending his clean sheet record this season to nine games.
