The end of the international break means a return to competitive action for Celtic.

As well as the domestic games, the Europa League will also be back as the Hoops try to get their first win in the competition.

Celtic drew with Red Star Belgrade and lost to Braga in their first two games, giving them a disadvantage already.

Brendan Rodgers’ side have six games in the league phase, and need to finish in the top 24 places in order to qualify for the next phase. But where does the supercomputer place the Hoops?

Celtic predicted to miss out on Europa League knockout phase.

According to Opta, it is going to be more disappointment for Celtic on the European stage.

Their supercomputer has predicted Celtic to finish 26th in the 36-team league phase, and they are expected to finish with roughly eight points.

In this format, the top eight teams qualify automatically for the knockout stage while the 16 teams between ninth and 24th compete in a play-off spot.

Failure to reach that would be a bitter blow for the Hoops and could have disastrous consequences in the long run.

Brendan Rodgers could be sacked if Opta prediction comes true

There are already question marks over Rodgers’ future as Celtic manager, but if the supercomputer is to be believed, it may mean an easy decision for the Celtic board.

The 52-year-old’s contract is up in the summer but not finishing in the top 24 could easily be grounds for dismissal.

Domestically, the Hoops have dominated, but that only goes so far with supporters.

In the meantime, we’ll just have to hope that the supercomputer has lied.
