Martin O’Neill’s temporary tenure at Celtic ended when Wilfried Nancy was finally appointed earlier this month.
Over O’Neill’s second spell, the legendary boss led Celtic to wins over Feyenoord and Rangers as the enigmatic Northern Irishman steadied the ship at Parkhead.
But it seems that Wilfried Nancy’s struggling start at Celtic has ignited the debate over whether or not O’Neill should have been kept on at the club until at least January.
And it seems that talkSPORT’s Andy Goldstein believes that O’Neill was unhappy with his Celtic exit and how the club treated the iconic manager.

Andy Goldstein claims Celtic treated Martin O’Neill ‘really badly’
O’Neill has repeatedly said that he loved his time at Celtic, especially when his temporary spell at the club came to an end.
Which makes Goldstein’s claim seem a wee bit ridiculous.
Goldstein told talkSPORT, “In the interview with White and Jordan, it sounded a little bit like his nose has been put out of joint, that they treated him really badly, Martin O’Neill.”
Darren Bent didn’t seem to think so and said, “I don’t really get that about him, if that makes sense.
“Of course he would probably be disappointed [he didn’t get the job] but I don’t even know if he wanted the job, if I’m honest.”
Who is to blame for Celtic’s results? The players or Wilfried Nancy? Let us know in the comments below.

What Martin O’Neill actually said about his time at Celtic
O’Neill has consistently said that he knew this time at Celtic would be temporary and that he really enjoyed his second spell in Glasgow.
O’Neill addressed the Celtic players and said, ““Seriously, it has been an absolute privilege.
“A privilege for me. To come back here and work with you lot.
“I couldn’t say anything higher than you have just been really, really fantastic. I came here when I was 73, after the Falkirk game, I thought I was 95.
“But now I am 23 again. I am 23 because of you. It has been a privilege to work with you. A genuine privilege.
“Young man (points at Nygren). I love the Swedes. You being one of the top Swedes. (Bjorn) Borg’s my big hero. ABBA are a fantastic group. And Henrik Larsson is just sensational. You are number four, alright (room laughs). Number four on the list.”
There has never been a single iota of unhappiness from O’Neill about how his time at Celtic went, as all he has ever done is speak glowingly about the club.
