Odsonne Edouard has sent his thanks to former Celtic striker John Hartson after he praise him on social media earlier this week.
Writing on Twitter, Hartson said on Tuesday: “Odsonne Edouard will leave Celtic today, he was outstanding when we signed him for 9.5m from PSG, he was hungry to make an impact and boy did he make a big impact. His level of performance dropped dramatically overnight although bagged 29 goals last season. Good luck Eddy.”
Apparently appreciating this analysis, Edouard responded with a simple message which read: “Thanks legend.”
As Hartson alludes to, Edouard’s last 12 months at Celtic weren’t as stellar as the previous 12. However, he will still go to Palace with the good wishes of the majority of Celtic supporters.
Personally, I’m hoping he smashes it in the English Premier League.
Edouard performing well down there is a good advert for the Celtic project. It enhances our ability to attract players with high potential to the club.
Knowing the way Celtic do business, I’m sure we’ll have a sell-on clause on Edouard’s deal too. If he does well at Palace, suddenly they’re potentially raking in mega-money, with Celtic getting a percentage of the profit.
So, good luck Edouard and do us proud! If you can reach the heights of the 2019/20 season, I’m sure you’ll impress many people in England.
In other news, “It’s unbelievable”; New Celtic signing wins August goal of the month at old club.
