Celtic’s win over St Johnstone was a well-rounded team performance by Brendan Rodgers’ side on Saturday night.

The 6-0 rout was complemented by five different goalscorers as Kyogo Furuhashi got a double and Daizen Maeda, Adam Idah, Callum McGregor and Paulo Bernardo all got on the scoresheet.

Every goal that Celtic goal was well-worked, polished and professional but there was one in particular that had the BBC in awe as they showed their appreciation on social media channel X.

Paulo Bernardo’s Celtic goal applauded by broadcaster

Paulo Bernardo‘s goal, Celtic’s second, was picked out by the BBC as the best of the bunch from Saturday’s win.

And it was posted on social media with this caption on the BBC Sport Scotland X feed:

The goal really was a thing of beauty. From the Kasper Schmeichel goal-kick, all it took was 11 passes and less than 30 seconds and Celtic’s lead was doubled over the Perth side.

This was a great example of how Brendan Rodgers is always keen for the goals to be spread throughout the Celtic team and not just to rely upon the strikers to grab the glory.

Celtic’s football ready to be tested in Champions League

Indeed, the Celtic fans saw a glimpse of this type of football in the 5-1 win over Slovan Bratislava in the Champions League last week but the real test is yet to come.

Brendan Rodgers takes Celtic to Germany to face Borussia Dortmund and the Scottish champions will need to be on their mettle to take anything from the Champions League runners-up of last season.

If Celtic can produce this kind of football and keep the backdoor closed in Dortmund, who knows what might happen.

It will be a tough ask to try and win the game but with the way this Celtic team is playing at the moment, the fans will be dreaming that they can pull off a shock result and take another step closer to qualifying for the next phase of the Champions League.
