Ange Postecoglou said a lot at today’s Celtic press conference. From injury updates to discussions about the future of the club, we were clued in on plenty.
But the best and most promising comment came on what Ange says is the “most important thing” for him at the club right now.
He feels the squad is better prepared for the challenges ahead right now than it ever has been since he was appointed as Celtic manager on June 10th.

Celtic have had good and bad periods of form and results since he joined the club. From the performance at home to AZ Alkmaar to the nightmare against Livingston, it’s been a rollercoaster.
Now, it seems that the manager is buoyant and ready for his team to string together consistent results.
Speaking in his press conference, Postecoglou said [Celtic YouTube]: “It has been unsettled but after the Aberdeen game I was hoping we’d get through this international period without any issues and the ones who have been rushed in and thrown into playing can settle themselves, even off the field.
“Guys were literally coming off a plane and we were putting them in the team. Not just me, I think the whole squad feels better prepared than we were before.
“It’s important we get some momentum in this period. It doesn’t mean it’s going to be easy, we have some challenges including Saturday’s game, which will be a tough one.
“But I just feel the squad is better prepared now for what’s ahead. I feel the squad is as well prepared as we have been since day one and that’s the most important thing for me.”
A win tomorrow at Fir Park will really signal to the Celtic support that this team is ready to make a push towards the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Despite a horror start to the campaign and a derby defeat, we still remain just six points behind league leaders Rangers. They’ve shown vulnerability too.

If Celtic truly are improving towards a peak, as Postecoglou feels the squad is, then we can undoubtedly put the pressure on before next month’s international break.
The Celtic we see tomorrow could well be the best version of the Bhoys we’ve seen since Ange arrived at the club. And that’s something to look forward to.
