Celtic’s indefinite ban of the Green Brigade has evoked a furious response today.

On the eve of Martin O’Neill’s final game as interim boss, the Celtic board hit the Green Brigade with further punishment as the Ultras were served with an indefinite ban from Parkhead.

The executives cited ‘safety problems’ where Celtic claimed that there were threats made against the Head of Safety and Security Operations by the Green Brigade.

And as O’Neill prepares to manage the Hoops for the final time, the Celtic Fans Collective have slammed the board for their decision to ban the Ultras further.

Celtic Fans Collective ‘stands in solidarity’ with the Green Brigade

The ban on the Green Brigade has angered the vast majority of the Hoops support and the Celtic Fans Collective didn’t hold back in their statement.

The Celtic Fans Collective’s warning to the Parkhead board.

We give notice that their attempt to divide the Collective will not work. The Collective stands in solidarity with fans who have been banned.

The statement on X read, “The Board of Celtic PLC last night launched a vicious and vindictive attack on the Green Brigade as an organisation and on two individual members.

“We give notice that their attempt to divide the Collective will not work. The Collective stands in solidarity with fans who have been banned.”

The Celtic fans will see an empty section in the North Curve as the ban continues to take effect from tonight.

What now for the Green Brigade and the Celtic board?

It’s difficult to say how this stand-off between the board and the Celtic Ultras is set to play out.

The board are not backing down and seem determined to get the Green Brigade to toe the Celtic line.

With the games coming thick and fast and Wilfried Nancy’s Celtic announcement imminent, it looks like the Frenchman’s tenure at the club is starting under a cloud.

Unless both parties can come together and create some sort of resolution to this mess. But that doesn’t look like it’s going to happen any time soon.
