Celtic social media has been awash with positivity in recent hours following the news that we could be about to link up with Adidas from next season.
The Scottish Sun broke the story of the potentially record-breaking deal last night, saying we were on the verge of completing the agreement with the renowned kit manufacturer.

We’ve also covered the story on site since, with some details of the proposed deal available here and the reaction of the fans here.
But any deal with Adidas could also have a knock-on effect for how Celtic Park is seen. Quite literally.
Could the three stripes return to Celtic Park?
Some older Hoops supporters may recall a time when the club effectively had an advert for Adidas inside the stadium, despite ‘being in bed’ with another kit manufacturer.
We are, of course, talking about the infamous three stripes that used to exist around the bowl of Paradise.
They were a big part of the look of our stadium in the early days, but had to be reduced from two to three once the club signed a deal with Adidas’ big rivals Nike in 2005.

Three stripes became two, and some Celtic fans may argue the stadium lost something that day that has not yet returned.
But surely with an Adidas deal looking likely next season, we will see the three stripes back in our wonderful arena.
It would make great sense from an Adidas point of view in terms of advertising, while you’d be hard pressed to find a Celtic fan who wouldn’t be in favour of a move either.
Us football fans love the wee things and memories to do with our home ground. This certainly qualifies as one of those.
