Nicolas Kuhn has been reflecting on Celtic’s heart-pumping Champions League win over Slovan Bratislava on Wednesday night.
The German winger was on top form against the Slovakian champions. It was his elusive dribble and cross that allowed Kyogo Furuhashi to put the Bhoys 2-0 up in an eventual 5-1 victory.
He has been electric in the opening weeks of the season having now contributed three goals and four assists in seven appearances.
It’s fair to say he’s settling into Glasgow life well and nights like Wednesday will only help him grow in confidence and strengthen his bond with the club.
Nicolas Kuhn got ‘more than expected’ from Celtic European experience
Asked for his thoughts on the Champions League occasion, Kuhn said in a media conference: “Unbelievable. I think it was the craziest thing I have ever experienced. It was just amazing.
“For me, it was just amazing. It’s been a long journey and finally arriving in the Champions League in such a stadium was unreal. It was more than what I expected. After the anthem, with it sold out, it was amazing.

“Everyone said it would be a special night, I was really looking forward to it. Now I can say I played in a European game here. I’m really happy.
“The goal was always to play in the Champions League and one day, hopefully, the national team. I didn’t care what other people said, it’s what I believed I could achieve.”
Kuhn has established himself as key Celtic starter
The former Rapid Vienna winger took a few months to get to grips with his place at Celtic, following a January arrival. Initial fitness issues had him behind the curve in the second half of last season.
However, he was one of the players to benefit most from a full pre-season schedule under Brendan Rodgers and is now a big part of the manager’s plans.
He’s locked down that right-wing place as his own for now, aided by substitute appearances from James Forrest and Hyunjun Yang.
The pacy attacker will be a hard man to shift from that spot and Celtic fans are looking forward to seeing what kind of numbers he can rack up by the end of the campaign. Double-figures in both goals and assists look likely.
