The Celtic first team has been all that’s on Brendan Rodgers’ mind this summer as he looked to strengthen his team for the season ahead.

Adding seven new faces and spending millions of pounds, it seems the Celtic boss has done that as the likes of Arne Engels, Paulo Bernardo and Luke McCowan have all impressed in their short outings in the green and white Hoops.

However, Brendan Rodgers faces another dilemma this season and it is one that could affect Celtic first teams of the future if the Irishman doesn’t address it soon.

Rodgers’ tough decision on Celtic academy youngsters

Celtic have seen the likes of Rocco Vata and Daniel Kelly all leave for nominal fees this summer and if Rodgers wants to avoid this again next summer, he needs to pay attention to the following youngsters:

All of these youngster’s deals expire next summer and the Celtic fans will recognise a few of these names.

Youngsters with possible Celtic future’s

Matthew Anderson shone on Celtic’s US Tour and Mitchel Frame is highly rated at the club but Rodgers adding Alex Valle does suggest that neither are close to the Hoops first team just yet.

Bruno Davidson and Kyle Ure have both experienced success at youth level and are probably in one of the toughest areas of the team to break through at the moment.

Joe Morrison at 18 has plenty of time to continue his development as a goalkeeper at the club as has 16-year-old, Josh Dede, on the Celtic wing.

Joey Dawson has just suffered another horrendous injury this summer and Mitchell Robertson has featured heavily for Celtic B over the last two seasons.

Undoubtedly talented, will Rodgers keep all eight players at Celtic beyond next summer or will he allow the youngsters to go out in search of first-team football elsewhere?

It’s certainly a tough choice and one that not many Celtic fans would be envious of having to make.
