Masters Football will make a return in 2023 with Celtic once against fielding a team.
The blue pitch six-a-side game was made popular by Sky Sports in the early 21st century, and made its long-awaited return last season.
Celtic competed against Rangers, Manchester United and Liverpool at the Braehead Arena last summer, with Liverpool coming out on top.
Things are a little different for Masters Football in 2023, with an all-Scottish line-up featuring Celtic, Rangers, Hibernian and Hearts.
The Celtic squad was announced recently, and there are five players surviving from last season’s tournament. They are: Mark Wilson, Kelvin Wilson, Joe Ledley, Simon Donnelly and Kris Commons.
Out from 2022 are Rab Douglas, Stiliyan Petrov and Carlton Cole. They have been replaced by Dorus de Vries, Mark Burchill and Gary Hooper.
Hooper is the big inclusion, and it will be great to see him back in the hoops — ideally with number 88 on his back.
The likes of Kelvin Wilson, Ledley and de Vries haven’t been retired too long so it will be hoped that they are all in relatively good condition as well.
The event will take place at the Braehead Arena on Saturday 9 September with the action also streamed live on SPORTbible. (Braehead Arena)

The Celtic first-team are not in action that weekend as its an international break. Scotland face Cyprus on the Friday evening so the stage is clear if you fancy a bit of Masters action.
