Benjamin Arthur put in a man of the match performance against Aberdeen after an injury in Celtic’s warm-up ruled Dane Murray out of the Pittodrie clash.
Young Murray was given the nod to start against the Dons after producing a rousing second-half performance in Celtic’s draw at Rangers.
But before Celtic beat Aberdeen, BBC man Liam McLeod explains how Benjamin Arthur was handed his first start for the club, after an eye injury forced Murray to withdraw just minutes before the big kick-off.

The Dane Murray ‘eye injury’ that forced late Celtic change vs Aberdeen
BBC pitchside reporter McLeod shared how he received information about the injury to the Celtic defender just minutes before Celtic’s kick-off at Pittodrie.
McLeod said on BBC Radio Scotland, “Yeah, it’s just been reported that Dane Murray’s pulled out of the starting eleven for this one with an eye injury, and will be replaced, by Benjamin Arthur.
“The new signing made his debut in the defeat against Hibs. Not sure who will go on the Celtic bench to replace him.
“But that’s what I’m hearing, is that Dane Murray’s having come out of the starting eleven and Benjamin Arthur will get his first Celtic start.”
It’s not known how long Murray will be missing from Celtic first-team duty, but after Benjamin Arthur’s performance for the Bhoys, Martin O’Neill now knows he has a reliable back-up option in the young on-loan Brentford defender with the Scottish Cup tie against Rangers coming up on Sunday.
