Brendan Rodgers has a number of talented players at Celtic.

There are young Celtic academy talents like Dane Murray, Jude Bonnar and Francis Turley who are all in and around the periphery of the Hoops first-team.

The Celtic manager also has the experience Callum McGregor and Kasper Schmeichel to call upon as Rodgers’ strength in depth at Celtic shows.

However, there is one Celtic player who Stephen Robinson would take to St Mirren ‘in a heartbeat’ as the Paisley gaffer waxes lyrical over Hoops legend James Forrest.

Stephen Robinson would ‘100%’ take Celtic hero James Forrest

Speaking about Forrest overtaking Celtic legend Bobby Lennox’s impressive medal haul when he said he would take the Hoops winger whose contract expires at the end of next season.

Robinson told PLZ Soccer, “100%, I would take him in a heartbeat. He’s been fantastic for Celtic, a really grounded boy as well, and he’s still playing ever so well.

“Brendan’s got a lot of good decisions to make in terms of who he picks, so we play them the week before the cup final, so hopefully everyone’s rested.

“And their second string team play, which I can’t imagine being much easier, to be honest.”

James Forrest’s Celtic record vs St Mirren

Forrest has made 522 appearances for Celtic scoring 109 goals and creating 109 assists. However, against St Mirren, the winger has an impressive record.

It’s little wonder Robinson would take Forrest after he has helped punish the SPFL club over his impressive career at Celtic.

With another fixture to play against the Paisley club, it would be hard to bet against Forrest causing damage to Robinson’s St Mirren this season.
