Nygren is one of Celtic’s seven summer signings and the Swedish international has already hit the ground running.

In the win against Sporting CP, Nygren was one of the best players and the 24-year-old impressed again as the Hoops hammered Newcastle United.

It was the first chance for the midfielder to meet the Celtic faithful at Parkhead and what he did at full time has supporters loving him even more.

Benjamin Nygren embraces Celtic fans

Excitement for the new season was in full swing at Celtic Park as the Bhoys absolutely hammered a top Premier League side.

Everyone wanted to get a glimpse of the new players and before kick off they were able to get a close up encounter with Nygren after he took the time to meet and greet every fan.

He also did the same at the end of the game, taking the time to sign shirts and speak to the Celtic fans.

It was a small but effective gesture and one that will stay with every fan.

Benjamin Nygren has to start the first game of the season

Brendan Rodgers loves Nygren already and has been very impressed with how his new signing has settled in.

It seems that he will be one of the players vying for a spot in the central midfield trio, meaning the likes of Arne Engels, Paulo Bernardo and Luke McCowan will be direct competition.

However, it seems clear already that the 24-year-old has been the standout star in the five games so far and it would be a shock to not see him in the starting XI against St Mirren on Sunday 3 August.
