The hilarious rival fan tweets on Celtic boss Postecoglou from July you have to read today
Let us not forget that Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou was mocked, derided, written off by all and sundry outside of the Bhoys bubble when he arrived in Scotland.
Indeed, even in pre-season when giving interviews to the press, his manner and words were being laughed at by rival fans.
They thought he was going to Celtic’s Pedro Caixinha. They thought this sparked off a new ‘banter years’. They should be so lucky.
Postecoglou has done a wonderful job in his first six months. Results were shaky at the start but recent form in the league is imperious and he’s even delivered a trophy.
More than that he’s united the support with these players. Everyone is moving forward together with purpose and it’s a complete change in feeling from 12 months ago.
His signings have been superb, with potentially more to come very shortly.
Postecoglou has grand ambitions at Celtic and based on the evidence so far you’d be daft to bet against him achieving them across his reign.
Absolutely wild then to travel back in time in Twitter and see some of the responses to a Postecoglou interview after a difficult friendly against Preston North End. I mean just look at this.
He looks and sounds defeated already 🤣 https://t.co/6LeYLjt7Mf— Kieran (@kieranmcl96) July 17, 2021

If i were a celtic fan I'd be extremely worried by ange and his body language and general aura. https://t.co/MedzKtdgj9— CHARLIE MURDOCH 🇬🇧🏴 (@murdoch_charles) July 18, 2021
Honestly? There’s more. Lots, lots more. Simply too many to embed and list here, but if you check out the quote tweets on the Premier Sports video it makes for delightful reading.
The predictions and takes from the summer look increasingly poor with each passing day and, for those of us who have backed Ange since the early days, it’s incredibly satisfying.
Postecoglou himself must be absolutely beaming with pride today, I’ll tell you that.
