The last Celtic allocation at Pittodrie as away fans prepare to be squeezed even further this season

Celtic fans will soon hear about arrangements for our upcoming trip to Pittodrie.

The Hoops visit Aberdeen on Sunday 13 August in our first domestic away match of the new season.

At the time of writing, less than 11 days out, there has been no word from the club about arrangements for the match.

With Flag Day sold out and the Athletic Club match taken care of, we should expect details to be made public very soon.

Included in that information will be our allocation and the news may not be great for supporters. For our last visit to Pittodrie in December, the club received 1,668 tickets for Pittodrie. (Celtic)

That number is only likely to go down this season, with Aberdeen altering arrangements at their away end which could see allocations reduced to as little as 300. (Daily Record)

Of course, Celtic are likely to receive far more than that number. But it will be interesting to find out just how many the Dons give us.

Following the Hoops away from home has become a really difficult thing to do, with almost every club reducing our away allocation in recent years.

Livingston, Motherwell and St. Johnstone still offer us over 4,000 tickets for their grounds but the rest are under that number with the majority now lower than 2,000.

Here is the exact number of tickets each Premiership side offered us last season.

The coming campaign looks like an even greater struggle for the away fan, and that’s a shame given that Scottish football owes so much to its supporters.

We should find out how many Celtic fans will be at Pittodrie very soon.
