Celtic have an abundance of talent all over the park. Right down the spine of the team and on the wings, teams from all over the country have struggled to cope with our dominance and power.

But Greg Taylor has singled out one player that he says is head and shoulders above the rest.

When speaking about Kyogo Furuhashi, Taylor was asked for one word to describe our Japanese star. He gave us three.

Taylor said [The National], “One word? Impossible. The guy’s frightening. It’s not just his goals, it’s his work for the team.

“I don’t know if he’ll get it, but he’d be a right contender and probably deserved Player of the Year in my opinion.”

There is absolutely no doubt that Kyogo is a phenomenal Celtic player. As Greg Taylor himself says, even taking away his goals, his movement and his hard work for the team create spaces for others to exploit.

He is one of the main reasons why many of our goals come from the wings and midfield.

Kyogo notched his 30th goal of the season, his 50th in total for Celtic. A remarkable achievement considering he spent a considerable amount of time out with injury last season. And to think, none of his goals are from penalties. Looking at the one he took at Kilmarnock a few weeks back, it’s just as well he is so deadly in the box.

After being named in the PFA’s Scottish Premiership Team of the Year, the Japanese striker must be high on the list to win the Player of the Year award. And it would be extremely well deserved.
