Martin O’Neill has confirmed the three players that have been added to the Europa League squad.
Celtic made it to the play-offs after a 4-2 victory against Utrecht on the final day of the league phase.
Their reward is a two-legged affair against Stuttgart, a place where Martin O’Neill will have fond memories of from the 2003 UEFA Cup run.
Thanks to qualifying for the next round, Celtic were able to make some alterations to the squad and add three new players. But, that means two have missed out.
Celtic fans would you rather: Win the Europa League but miss out on the league title?
Or… get knocked out of the Europa League and win the title?
The three players added to Celtic’s Europa League squad
After making five signings in the January transfer window, it meant that two were unfortunately going to miss out.
In his pre-match press conference for this weekend’s game against Dundee, O’Neill confirmed that Benjamin Arthur and Joel Mvuka missed out on a place in the squad while Julian Araujo, Tomas Cvancara and Junior Adamu were all added.
He told Sky Sports: “There were a couple of positions left over and having been out of the game for a while, I wasn’t sure of the rules.
“Julian and Tomas have been added because they have been here and we’ve also added Junior Adamu too.”
Would you have included Benjamin Arthur and Joel Mvuka in Celtic’s Europa League squad?
Who would have missed out instead?
Can Celtic make any more changes to the Europa League squad?
Sadly for the Hoops, they won’t have any other opportunities to make changes to their 25-man squad for the Europa League.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is close to signing but will only be allowed to play domestic football for the Bhoys once the move goes through.
O’Neill hinted that fitness had something to do with Arthur and Mvuka’s absence from the squad, but all three will certainly play a part.
