Transfer deadline day is when clubs usually scramble to complete the deals that they have waited all month to do.
Things have been slow for the Hoops and the Celtic board have felt the wrath of fans in the stands and outside Celtic Park.
Like any window, it has felt like every player under the sun has been linked with a move to Glasgow but some failed to materialise.
As we go into the final third of the season, 67 Hail Hail have looked back at three players that were linked with the Hoops and why the club may regret on not making a move for.
Grade how successful you think Celtic’s transfer window has been
Stefan Ortega (Goalkeeper)
Concerns over Kasper Schmeichel’s form have had some of our fans on TalkingPoints hope that a new goalkeeper would come in.
Options were limited but Stefan Ortega was a name that did jump out a few times.
After falling further down in the pecking order, the 36-year-old wanted to move on in order to get game time at one club before eventually hanging up the gloves.
Nottingham Forest won the race to sign Ortega in the end, as Celtic never really made a move. However, he could have come in and definitely done a job for the Bhoys.
Aurele Amenda (Defender)
Following the decision to cancel Jahmai Simpson-Pusey’s loan and let Hayato Inamura return to Japan, Martin O’Neill’s side were short of options at centre-back.
Stephen Welsh was recalled from his loan at Motherwell and offers cover along with Dane Murray as Cameron Carter-Vickers continues his rehabilitation.
Aurele Amenda looked like the perfect option on paper due to his lack of minutes at Eintracht Frankfurt this season.
Frankfurt then sacked their manager, offering Amenda a lifeline, but nothing went further. Being so short in a position like that could be costly if there are any more injuries.
Silas Andersen (Midfielder)
The centre of midfield is a position that I feel Celtic fans are not talking about enough when it comes to the problems in the squad.
Currently, Celtic’s midfield is far too one-dimensional, with only Callum McGregor offering something different.
You can pick one member of the Celtic board to banish…
Who do you pick first?
BK Hacken priced out the Hoops of an attempt to sign Silas Andersen, but maybe it was worth the money all along?
Andersen was the star in the Swedish top flight and is expected to gather plenty of interest in the summer, where his price tag could be even bigger.
