Paul Lambert has moved to shut down an age-old Scottish football debate this weekend.
Celtic hold an already insurmountable looking nine point lead over rivals Rangers from their opening fixtures this term.
Brendan Rodgers’ team have been relentless and only dropped points against an equally rampant Aberdeen side who roared back from 2-0 down at Parkhead to draw 2-2 last month.
Gers, meanwhile, are languishing under struggling boss Philippe Clement as the walls begin to close and the dissenting voices groan louder.

Where Clement has failed this term so far, Rodgers has succeeded and done so significantly.
The Northern Irishman has won big games and done so while also being able to rotate his squad where he has handed minutes to fringe players such as Yang Hyun-jun and Luis Palma in midweek.
And that has just highlighted the strength in depth on show at Parkhead and available to the boss who built the squad out in the summer transfer window.
For Lambert – speaking on the Warm-Up show – the results and performances have shown one thing in particular.
Lambert says no Rangers player would get into Celtic’s squad
Every year the same debate seems to crop up as to which player from the Light Blues would make it into the strong Hoops squad under Rodgers’ guidance.
But while there’s usually perhaps one, maybe two conversations to be had, this season Lambert sees nothing from the Gers squad to suggest any of their players would be close to fighting for a spot in Celtic’s team.
“I don’t think there’s one Rangers player, not one, would make the Celtic team. Not one,” the former club captain explained.
Rangers are nine points behind Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership
“If you’re being blunt by it. Unless you look at it in the reality terms of it, the brutality of it which football is, there’s no way Rangers are anywhere near Celtic.
“On and off the pitch. Not just on the playing surface.”
We told you earlier this afternoon how another Hoops legend, Chris Sutton, took aim at Clement for two major blunders he made involving Celtic when it came to switching Gers fans off to his comments.
