Celtic star and vice-captain Joe Hart has joked about his summer arrival in an Instagram Q+A.

Hart, who has captained the side in the absence of Callum McGregor, quipped that Celtic “actually wanted” Hart around. The 75-cap former Manchester City star has had a more difficult time of things in recent seasons, but has surely found a new home in Glasgow.

In seriousness, Hart commended the Bhoys’ manager Ange Postecoglou, as well as Stevie Woods.

Hart said [Celtic FC/Instagram]:

“Loads of things inspired me to join Celtic. One of the main ones being that they actually wanted me…!

“Other than that, the tradition of the club, the size of the club, the history. The passion of the manager, the passion of the goalkeeping coach.”

Hart answered a range of questions from supporters, who sent in a barrage of enquiries over the last two days. Granted, he didn’t answer anything about the board, or Hayley Williams. But he still had some fun responding on Instagram.

On his time at Celtic at so far, Hart said [Celtic FC/Instagram]:

“I certainly feel very welcome. I’m really enjoying playing at the stadium, we’ve had some really positive results so far, so I want that to continue.”

Joe Hart seems to have genuine respect and ambition for Celtic

While goalkeepers retire far later than outfield players, it’s still pretty remarkable how much drive Joe Hart has at 34.

A deputy captain, an on-pitch leader and someone who seems to take conceding goals extremely personally, Hart was a perfect pick-up for boss Ange Postecoglou.

Not only is Hart making important saves, but he’s shattered a pre-conceived notion about his game. With his stellar distribution, he’s making critics – including this writer – look very daft indeed.

Hart seems to harbour real enthusiasm and determination to succeed at Celtic. Nothing less than trophies will do it for him, in what’s been a medal-laden career to date.

Game for a laugh, but ruthlessly focused; Hart is a great ambassador for Celtic Football Club.
