Celtic forward Kyogo Furuhashi has sent an Instagram message to supporters tonight after his stunning performance at Hampden.
The Bhoys star hit two goals against Hibernian to win the Premier Sports cup, solidifying his status as an absolute hero of the Celtic support. The quality of his touches and finishing was beyond a level seen in Scottish football for quite a while.
After the game, Kyogo wrote on Instagram: “We are the champions! I am so happy to win the first title with Celtic! Proud of this team! This is for you, Celtic fans! Thank you for your support”
Kyogo has already scored 16 goals in Celtic colours across all competitions, also contributing five assists. He’s on course for a 30-goal season which, if it occurs, will give the Bhoys a massive chance of even more silverware this season.
That he even made the starting line-up today seems like something of a minor miracle. It seems there was no stopping him, but given he injured his hamstring 10 days ago, it has been quite the recovery.
That’s a testament to the kind of character he is. He wants to shine on these occasions. He wants to be the player everyone is talking about.

More than that though he always wants to be a team player. He runs for everything, battles against defenders, creates space for others. He’s a brilliantly unselfish forward considering his finishing ability.
He plays with a massive smile on his face and my one matches it most games. Long may it continue.
