Celtic are now on the verge of completing a ninth domestic Treble, with Aberdeen the only team standing in their way of that in the Scottish Cup final.
Of course, there’s been a number of standout stars for the Hoops this season, with captain Callum McGregor finding his shooting boots while Nicolas Kuhn proved his worth after initial doubts.
But one man has stolen the show this season and it’s no surprise at all that he’s won the William Hill Premiership Player of the Season award.

Celtic fans react to Daizen Maeda’s Premiership Player of the Season win
It was confirmed by the SPFL on Friday morning that Daizen Maeda was awarded Player of the Season, the least surprising news in Scottish football.
The Japanese speedster was handed the award at Lennoxtown and can be seen holding his prize with a beaming smile on his face.
Many Celtic supporters on social media platform X commented on Maeda’s success, with many pleading with the club to offer him a new contract.
One fan wrote: “easy choice , best player in scotland”.
Another said: “Another brilliant signing who come conquers all and leaves for 20 times the amount of money that he was signed for .. the best ran club in Europe …. Maeeeda”.
This punter posted: “This was a shock to no one except rangers fans”.
And this Celtic fan had one request: “Don’t let him leave”.
Maeda’s stats for Celtic this season
It’s been an incredible goal-scoring campaign for Maeda, easily his best since signing under previous manager Ange Postecoglou midway through the 2021/22 season.
He initially joined on a loan, so thank goodness Celtic decided to tie him down on a permanent deal, which currently runs until 2027.

But Celtic fans understandably want him to be contracted beyond that, even though it is still another two years from now.
Maeda’s sell on value will be at its highest at the moment, but that would increase if Celtic offer and he accepts fresh terms.
