Former Celtic midfielder Tommy Gravesen has delighted the club and supporters by donating his Open Goal appearance fee to the Foundation.

Gravesen was the headline name at a sold-out Hydro event last night, making a much-hyped appearance with Si Ferry and the boys as the hit podcast made its way to the stage.

Ferry and his guests have been telling stories about Gravesen’s antics at Lennoxtown for years, with the former Denmark international becoming something of a cult hero.

And the former Real Madrid man clearly still has an affinity for Celtic, making a brilliant gesture to the club’s charitable wing this week.

Gravesen told the official club website: “It was great to be back in Glasgow – the two years I had here bring back many special memories for me.

“I’m very aware of the work that Celtic FC Foundation are doing in the city and in various other places, and I’m delighted that I can help them in this way.”

The Foundation has an ongoing Football For Good Fund that has raised over £1.5m to help vulnerable communities.

Gravesen’s appearance last night has been getting rave reviews online, so not only has he entertained thousands, but also added a real touch of class here with his donation. You love to see it.

These fans have taken to social media today to share their thoughts on it all, leaving no-one in any doubt about how supporters feel about him…
